3x3x3 Advanced Guide:

An Advanced Guide to Solving the Rubik's Cube. v1.0:
by: Caleb Lau

Introduction and Method:
The method described here is the full Fridrich (CFOP) method. That would be:

1. Cross
2. F2L (First 2-Layers)
3. OLL (Orientation of the Last Layer)
4. PLL (Permutation of the Last Layer)

As you can see, there are only four steps in this solution. Fridrich style solving requires the knowledge of many algorithms. This may sound a little weird but it is a very advanced solution that is very easy to understand. In fact, there is not much to understand. That is what makes it unique. With not much to understand, you think less, therefore reducing times drastically.

You would start with by solving the Cross, as described in all of my other tutorials. Then you solve the F2L simultaneously by pairing edges with their corresponding corner and inserting it in the right (as opposed to wrong) "slot." Orienting the last layer is all in one step (57 cases). Permuting is also done in one step (21 cases). If you have solved using the method described on my intermediate guide, you should be able to already do this.

Conclusion and Redirection:
Because there are already so many places on the web that can help you learn Fridrich, instead of writing a guide (maybe sometime later), I will redirect you to other, very good sites with very, good algorithms, tips, and tricks. I list of some of my favorite links can be found in the Links section. If you have any question or comments, feel free to contact me.

Happy Cubing!
